The Bus is STUFFED!
LSWG staff members, United Way of Frederick County volunteers, and Miss Frederick, worked together to load up supplies collected at LSWG in support of the United Way of Frederick County’s 9th Annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive on a sunny Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Principals and staff of LSWG personally donated over 500 supply items (to include book bags, composition notebooks, glue sticks, folders, 3-ring binders, scissors, protractors, markers, pens, and pencils). In 2016, over 1,500 Frederick County Public School students benefited from the United Way of Frederick County’s drive—which collected over 33,000 items and stuffed five school buses. This year over 70,000 school supply items were collected and ten buses were stuffed!
LSWG is proud to support this initiative each year which recognizes that “The best poverty prevention tool we have is education.”
