Maryland Extends Deadline for Pass-Through Entities
For the Maryland S-corporations, partnerships and their owners patiently awaiting the release of Maryland Form 511, we have another update: The deadline for filing and payment has been extended to September 15, 2021.
Wednesday, June 30, 2021 – Today Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot announced that the filing deadline for 2020 Maryland income tax returns for pass-through entities has been automatically extended to September 15, 2021.
As we have previously reported, many of our S-corporation, partnerships, and their owners’ tax returns were put on hold awaiting the release of the new Maryland Form 511. We now understand that the new form and its instructions were released earlier this week and made available to third-party tax software vendors.
What does this mean for you?
If you are an S-corporations, partnership, or owner anxiously awaiting the release of From 511 so your return can be completed and meet the July 15 deadline, take a breath. Your filing and payment deadline has been extended two months–to September 15, 2021.
